How not to share the mail IDs of our contacts

How not to share the mail IDs of our contacts

It is not uncommon now days we get emergency help messages in the name of our friends and from email IDs which is known to us. Invariably such mails are hoax. Now a days we also receive a large number of email forwards whether we like or not. It is also noted that whenever such mails are forwarded, in a very large number of cases, the mail IDs which are marked as “cc” also appear in the forwarded mails received. By this unknowingly we share our contacts
mail IDs. Some times this can be misused.
By this our contacts IDs can also fall into hackers hands.
How to avoid this?
1.When we send mails to a group, enter the groups name in the “bcc” and NOT in the "To" column . By this no one would come to know to whom all the same is marked.

2. When you forward a mail, you may have to take a little effort to edit the portions having IDs. This effort is worth the time spent as we do not embarrass our contacts by sharing their IDs.
